Local musician Rick Trevino, Dale Watson and The Derailers launch new projects and partners with local horse charities to benefit children.

Rick Trevino , Dale Watson and The Derailers will meet with children and horses at formal announcement of partnership and New Year’s Eve Celebration.

Austin, TX December 28, 2010 : Popular recording artist and local icon Rick Trevino will be meeting with children representing 2 Central Texas charities who will benefit from his New Year’s Eve concert. Joined by Dale Watson, plus The Derailers well-known Austin recording artist, Rick and friends will sign autographs, meet the children and families, watch examples of the horses involved in the activities in front of the venue.

Trevino has been at the top of the recording industry since 1993. After graduating from high school in “Austin, he had a successful single career before joining the legendary musical group “Los Super Seven”. He has many awards and has been at the front of the Austin music scene for almost two decades. He has recorded English and Spanish albums.

To introduce the children and the horses to the artists who will play for them, EC Productions has organized a small free event for the community. The charities will explain what they do and how they care for the horses who work with the community, and help individuals overcome disabilities. The artists will entertain the audience with stories and conversation. Some of the horses will be on hand to meet the children and the community.

 CenTex Horse Festival and Outdoor Expo – raises funds for local horse charities that work with children and youth using horses to touch the lives of children of neglect and abuse, childhood cancer or At-Risk Youth with behavioral, mental or emotional disorders.  www.centexhorsefestival.com

Mini’s and Friends – Miniature Horses is dedicated to bringing a mobile herd of trained miniature horses to visit and interact with people of all ages who may be suffering mentally, physically or emotionally. programs tailor activities for children with disabilities, at-risk youth, individuals in transition and elder adults to improve their motor skills, ability to connect, tactile response, use of senses and spirits through interaction with miniature horses. www.minisandfriends.org
